What should I do if plans backfire?

During the summer, I plan to join a program called "Gensys Work" to learn about business and potentially work in a related field for a year, even though it's not something I want to get into. I want to work in the entertainment industry, but I'm afraid it might backfire somehow. Will a year-long job help me, or is there something else I need to prepare for in case that happens?

The year long job will definitely help you and come in handy. The entertainment industry is quite difficult (but not impossible) to break into so taking that job will work in your favour to provide you with a stable Foundation that will allow you to venture into the corporate world (if need be ) because also jobs in the entertainment industry are often quite seasonal. And you always need to have a source of income to not only survive but also sponsor and find your dreams of making it into the entertainment industry by building your own solo portfolio (Which is very important in the entertainment industry)

Trying different paths to find your true career is not a failure. It's a step in the right direction that guides you to your true calling. It might be tough at first, but over time, it becomes easier to see that what seems like a setback is actually helping you find your way.

Even if this job isn't your ultimate goal, it can still provide useful skills, confidence, and connections for the future.
