How to write a resume as a 10th grader?
I'm a 10th grader in high school and want to create a resume. What are some key things I can put in it to be eye-catching? What are some things I can do over the summer to make my resume better?

Hi Ximena - Great question! Start by listing everything you do, like clubs, volunteering, activities, jobs, and chores. For each one, note what you did and what skills (like organizing, leading, or customer service) and qualities (like being responsible, timely, or friendly) you showed. Look for patterns in these skills and qualities. Then, create your resume with these skills and qualities as the main points, using examples from your activities to show your strengths. This approach highlights what you can offer as a future employee, rather than just listing your past experiences.

For a 10th grader resume, I would put current education, classes excelled in (briefly), and grades received. Also include extracurricular activities like any involvement is sports, music, etc. and volunteering. Additional section can mention hobbies and interests, any language skills outside of primary, any other skills that feel worth mentioning like teambuilding, leadership, communication, etc. They dont have to be very detailed out or learned and practiced a lot, just something you have experience with and can talk about. I'd suggest doing a variety of volunteer activities which will allow you to identify some new skills such as team work, leadership, communication, as well as perhaps being exposed to new cultures or backgrounds.
