What is the best way to study in college? #Spring26

I'm planning on majoring in criminology and I struggle with studying. So it would be great to know some studying tips to do when I start college!

Study tips helps to make information stick.
Uni is different, in uni one lecture one chapter .
There are lots of study tips to help you succeed in uni .Let's start with a few .

Before you study .
*Plan specific task:write 3 specific task you want to learn for the day e.g summarize cell division +do 10 past questions+summary on today's lecture.
*Gather everything:know that every time you get up focus breaks ,so gather everything,e.g bottle water, jotter,pens all the things you need .
Now we have listed what to do before studying,let's start with few studying tips 😊there are alot ,but I'll be giving 5 for now .
Biggest mistake: waiting till test before studying 🤬

STUDY TIPS
1. Jot down what lecturers say that isn't in your slides .
2. Summarise the lecture in your own words .
3. Do past questions before revising,see what you don't know ,then study that .
4. Find your exam source .70% of lecturers repeat past questions or tests from assignment.
5. Do all past questions from last 5 years .
Note:Ask questions,and same day , lecture summaries .
