What are some of the best study methods that work for college students?

I'm a senior in high school and struggle with memorizing things. I've been trying different study methods to help but haven't found one that works yet.

Thank you comment icon Hello! I find that asking application questions is the best way to study for me. For example, I am an international law student, and I will read the background and details of a legal case, and then I will ask myself what laws apply, why other laws wouldn't, and who may win. I would then look at the rest of the case to determine what I got wrong or right and why. Sierra

Hi Kaylee,
As a biology major, I had to memorize a lot, especially in classes like anatomy. The best way to remember things is through active recall. I used to rewrite my notes, but that's passive recall and didn't help much. Active recall, like using flashcards, is more effective. I liked using Quizlet because it had ready-made card decks that covered most of my syllabus objectives.
