How to get involved in clubs on campus?

Hello! I'm a freshman at IU Bloomington, and I am heavily involved in work and school, but I want to be more involved in clubs :) What are some good ways to find and become involved in clubs that I will be interested in?

Hi there! I'm an IU Bloomington alum from quite a few years back, but I bet some things are still the same. There are lots of groups and clubs on campus. Start by thinking about what you love to do outside your major. For example, I loved singing in high school, so when I got to IU, I looked for singing opportunities. I joined the Choral Ensemble through elective courses, got involved in a band that played in dorms, and volunteered for IU Sing at my dorm. Once you know your interests, look for groups or clubs that match. If they don't exist, you can always start one yourself!

Talk to a Guidance Counselor. Also ask your friends about clubs they belong to. In addition to clubs, try volunteering for a variety of organizations where you can gain new skills and meet new people -- possibly find out you have new interests.

With every good wish and many blessings,

Hi Sierra,

You can look up clubs, organizations, events or sports teams at your school to check what you might be interested in, mainly under student life and Hoosier life:

I hope this helps! All the best to you!
