What are good schools for a Masters in Education Administration?

I have already googled this, but my search has not been helpful. I would get a list of schools, but when I search on the school's website I would either not find the actual degree ( or anything similar), or they would all be for "higher education," and I am interested in elementary school. #education #graduate-school #principal #administrator

It depends on what you want to do with the degree and where you want to work. Are you interested in a leadership role at a school (i.e., being a principal)? Most principal training programs are feeders for specific districts or school networks. For example, New York City's Leadership Academy is designed to prepare teachers to become effective principals within the district. You could attend the Leadership Academy with the intention of working elsewhere, but the program's best connections are within New York City. If your interest lies in policy, nonprofit, government, etc., then you should pay more attention to national rankings. The US News & World Report rankings are a good place to start.

You might also consider becoming a museum educator. Most museums have educational staff who create programs for various grades, according to state and federal learning standards, that take place within the museum. Each museum focuses on a specific subject so, if you're working for the Museum at Eldridge Street (in the National Historic Landmark Eldridge Street Synagogue) you would design programs that explore Lower East Side immigration or Jewish culture or architectural preservation; if you're working in the Museum of Art & Design, you would create and deliver K-12 classes and workshops that focus on the art forms, contemporary life, peoples and activities of various cultures. The Intrepid Museum, in New York City on the air craft carrier The Intrepid, would focus on science. Many museums are also hiring special education teachers who design programs for physically, mentally and emotionally challenged children and adults. Not all education work happens in the school classroom setting!

An excellent university/college for the study of museum education is the Bank Street College of Education (I believe it is associated with Columbia University in NYC).
