What was your journey toward becoming a pilot like? What was the hardest part?
I'm going to Saint Louis University and interested in attending the flight school. I am hoping to become an airline pilot.

I'm glad you're interested in becoming a pilot! I'm not an airline pilot, but I've been working as a flight instructor for the last couple of years.
After graduating from high school, I enrolled in a local flight school and began working toward my ratings. Some of these ratings, like the instrument rating and multi-engine rating, are crucial for becoming an airline pilot. I pursued and obtained the flight instructor rating, which will help me build up hours toward the required minimum of 1500. Attending a school like Saint Louis University with an approved Part 141 program can help you meet the minimums, usually 250 to 500 hours, sooner than a regular individual.
The hardest part was probably all the information that needed to be known initially. As a student pilot, you'll be learning about meteorology, aviation law, aerodynamics, and many other topics related to the aviation field. It can be a lot of information, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to study it. Don't forget to ask your teachers and instructor questions to make the most of the training!
