I am currently in an undergraduate program and am about to start my master's. This means I will need to be thinking about internships soon.

If you have a linkedin profile try connecting with other professional profile under "my network" you'd be surprised who is who in your chosen field of study.

Melissa recommends the following next steps:

Create a LinkedIn profile
Write a short status saying what kind of employment you are looking for
Periodically revise your resume
Connect with other profiles in your field of choice

Feel free to attend events organised by your college, there usually are a lot of opportunities you can get through your college. Another option would be to speak to your professors, they might very likely have connections they can hook you up with. It can be something as simple as setting you up with people for you to speak to and ask questions about the field you are interested in. When you express interests, people usually are genuinely interested to help you out.
