Stella’s Answer

What I enjoy most about my career is helping people improve their lives through food. I studied Nutrition in Brazil, and after moving to the United States, I continued my education in Culinary Arts and Hospitality. That combination completely shaped my career and opened many opportunities for me.

I have worked as a private chef for elite soccer players and high-performance clients, and my company’s concept has always focused on healthy cuisine and wellness. In this type of work, understanding nutrition is extremely important because food directly affects energy, recovery, inflammation, sleep, focus, and overall health. I truly believe that food is medicine.

The most challenging part of being a nutritionist or working in wellness-focused culinary careers is helping people create long-term healthy habits. Everyone wants quick results, but true health requires consistency, discipline, education, and lifestyle changes. You also need to continue learning constantly because nutrition science is always evolving.

My advice for students interested in this career is:
• Study both science and people skills
• Learn about nutrition, wellness, cooking, and hospitality
• Gain hands-on experience as early as possible
• Stay curious and open-minded
• Understand that communication and empathy are just as important as knowledge

Most importantly, find a way to combine your passion with your purpose. For me, combining nutrition, culinary arts, and hospitality allowed me to create a career that feels meaningful and impactful every day.
