which college in California the the best for architectural design

Im in sixth grade and I do not know what college in California is the best for studeing architectural design. I want to major in architectural design and I want to go to college in California.

Hi Sofia, great job planning for your future. If you're interested in innovative design, check out the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). For a focus on technical design, California Polytechnic at San Luis Obispo (SLO) is a good choice. UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design is another option, but you might need to think about grad school later. Decide if you want to be a designer or a professional, as this will help you choose the right school.

I concur with Henry's response above but am curious to know why you are restricting your choices to schools in California. There are many excellent schools in other locations, especially on the east coast, and given the importance of where you receive your education I suggest that you at least consider schools like Yale, MIT, Columbia, Cornell and UVA. Equally important as the university and its overall reputation is the faculty teaching at an institution during your years of attendance. If you admire or resonate with a particular architect or firm founder why not investigate if she/he is a faculty member at a particular school and develop a relationship that may lead to employment at her/his firm after graduation? Employment at a well-known firm is a very good way to kick start your career.
