Steward "Tony"’s Answer
At your age it may be wise to volunteer as long as a parent can share that time with you. Network online with these rescue teams and get their perspective on what they would do in your shoes. Thank you for being a great example of drive and fortitude in one so young. Its refreshing to see. Godspeed!

Hi Aya,
It's great that you are interested in wildlife rescue and especially ocean wildlife rescue. Most organizations will only accept volunteers above the age of 18 or maybe in some cases above the age of 16 though.
If one or both of your parents/guardians are involved there might be options for younger volunteers, but 11/12 is probably still too young. There are some youth programs and camps that you can participate in when you are old enough.
A few contacts for you:

Hi Aya! It’s wonderful that you already know what you’re passionate about. That’s a fantastic goal to have.
At your age, many wildlife rescue organizations have special ways for young people to get involved. You could ask your parent or guardian to contact your local wildlife rescue to see if they offer junior programs, family volunteering opportunities, or ways you can support their work.
You can also start preparing for your dream by learning about marine animals, visiting aquariums, reading books, watching documentaries, and helping raise funds through small projects with your parents’ permission.
Keep being curious, kind to animals, and work hard in school especially in science. Every wildlife rescuer started by loving animals, just like you.
Keep chasing your dream, and one day you’ll be making a real difference for ocean wildlife.
