I know it can be tough when courses like Level 5 cookery need payment, especially if funding isn't available. But there’s a bright side. There are plenty of free learning opportunities in Ireland that can help you gain new skills and explore different careers without spending money.
Here are some free courses you can try:
Local ETBs (Education and Training Boards): They offer free short courses in IT, office skills, languages, and basic trades.
SOLAS / Skills to Advance: Provides free or low-cost training for adults, focusing on digital skills and workplace development.
Community Education Centres: Many towns have these centres offering free workshops in arts, crafts, personal development, and basic vocational skills.
Online Platforms: Websites like Alison and FutureLearn offer free courses in business, technology, and personal growth.
Youthreach (for under 20s): Offers free education and training to help young people explore different career options.
What you can do next:
Check out your local ETB office or website for available free courses.
Look at online platforms to learn skills that interest you.
Think about what excites you, like IT, creative arts, or community work, and try a short free course to see if you like it.
Remember, even if the cookery course isn’t an option now, you can still learn and grow with these free resources. They can open new doors and help you find the right path for your future.
Wishing you lots of encouragement and confidence as you explore new opportunities.
