Depending on what area of the automotive industry you are in they could be flexible. If you are on the sales side like a dealership you are looking at around 50 hours a week. Dealerships are typically staffed with enough employees to accommodate sudden schedule changes for unforeseen occurrences. . I would note that, if you are in a commission based position you will want to be readily available as you will not make money if you are not there.
On a operations/ marketing level of the automotive industry you could expect your schedule to be pretty set in place. In my opinion.
