What developments on the horizon could affect future opportunities?

I’m a brennan student at brennan high school and I am interested in going into physical therapy. I am interested in how the body works and how the body can heal itself. #physical-therapy #medicine

1. Telemedicine 2. Health insurance limitations. 3. Opportunities lie in smaller communities and rural areas. As well as, pediatrics and physical therapy for adults with disabilities. 4. technology to monitor adherence to home exercise programs. 5. Robotics. 6. access to DME durable medical equipment- a w/c that can move to standing opens a person life to increased independence at home - think about how you easily reach into the cabinet.

Basic anatomy and physiology, kinesiology, neuroscience will be your foundation. People skills, communication, bedside manners will define your career. Healthcare will always be in demand but you need to have the right reasons and motivation to get into this career pathway otherwise your patients will only receive medical interventions and not real personal care.
