The way that engineering is divided in universities may lead you to think that all fields are not connected but that is far from the truth. A good undergrad student may be looking on how to apply new technologies from other areas in its fields and bring that knowledge to its future job. The only negative comes to those who don’t stay up to date to the changes coming to its area, which can be mitigated with reading articles, going to conferences and having good networking in your area.

I've found that robots are valuable to use for processes that are predictable and repeatable. They eliminate mundane tasks and allow employees to perform more value added activities and use their critical thinking skills. It can enhance the working environment!

Robots will take over the unsafe and menial labor jobs 1st. They are also going to do the jobs that require better memory, more strength or more precision than humans can offer. In the process, 1000's of skilled engineers, computer designers, testers, technicians... will be trained and hired to design and build better and more capable robots.
