Paul’s Answer

That's a wonderful question! Absolutely, software companies hire people from all sorts of backgrounds. Having a background in commerce is a strong base and can lead to many opportunities. Large tech companies need diverse skills, including Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, Sales, and Marketing. It's helpful to look into the companies you're interested in to see if their culture, values, and goals match yours.

Jasdeep’s Answer

Of course you CAN.
However, it depends on what degree do you have.
With your commerce/business background, you'll be an asset as a Software programmer in any Banking/Financial company. There are lot of careers in the software industry which are looking for people with commerce/business back ground. You could be an asset to any of these companies as a Business Analyst or a Software Tester.
