If you work in a small garage they are usually not to clean. Big dealership are very professional clean and well vented

Atmosphere really depends on company. I prefer having my own area to use and take care of. I prefer working at my own pace. That being said, I've worked in many shops where we share lifts and are pushed to work at a fast pace. Some shops are clean and professional, some are not. Unless your a mobil mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic work is almost always indoors. Most shops in California dont have air conditioning or heating.
