Luisa’s Answer

To work in the automotive industry there are a couple of things you will need to understand. The only thing constant is change. You have to get used to it. The government is watching so you have to be very diligent in your work. Meaning you dot you "I's", cross your "T's". Understanding what you do and how you do it is extremely important because of the product you are providing. The safety of automobiles is regulated. technology is ever changing in the blink of an eye. Designs are changing as well so you have to be on top of your game and that can be exhausting.

In a nutshell, safety is the number one priority, quality is a fast second and just as important. Paying attention to what you are doing is critical.

Michael’s Answer

There are a lot of factors which may contribute to stress in the automotive repair industry. My father always worked for trucking companies where productivity was important but doing the job with few errors was more important than time. Ive aways worked in independent garages where you had to work at a fast pace in order to get good pay.
If your new to the industry only take a job at a company where you will have mentor, you are guaranteed have training opportunities, and they are committed to your success.
Limit stress by being prepared.
