IRS can also mean Internal Revenue Service. It is the agency responsible for collecting taxes from citizens and it audits tax returns. To learn what you need to become an Internal Revenue Service agent go to this website:

Hi Ganavi,

You are in IX standard and for this age if you want to really get into IRS, it is actually pretty early to develop an interest like that. For your information, IRS stands for Indian Revenue Services or it can also mean Indian Railway services.
In case you were meaning Indian Revenue Services - this is service type which is allotted to a candidate post he/ she clears UPSC Civil services exam. UPSC civil services exam is a prestigious exam which anyone can appear into once he/she completes his/her graduation.
So in that way, you being in IX standard, it is a long way.

I would rather suggest you to focus on your current class subjects and develop a interest among them.
Based upon your interest, you decide which stream you want to graduate - Arts/Commerce/Science/Mathematics etc.
Post that your interest will come for IRS.

Just in case you were meaning Indian Railway services for IRS, then I would suggest you to prepare for
SCRA - Special Class Railway Apprentices Exam - conducted by UPSC for which you can appear after 12th class.
The entire information related to this exam could be found on:
https://www.upscsyllabus.in › SCRA

Till then, take care and have a good luck!
