Kate’s Answer

Hi Kendrick,
I've been a licensed architect for over 25 years. The best thing about being an architect is that there are numerous career paths, project types, and ways of being an architect. Every day brings new challenges, new successes, and opportunities for learning. I enjoy working with different clients on all types of projects.
Being an architect allows you to work in an office, work from home, or work on the building site. You can work for an architecture firm, owner, developer, large company, or an institution such as a university or municipality. Projects can be small or large, complex or straightforward, innovative, or more conventional.
Working as an architect allows you the choice to accomplish what you are passionate about in the built environment.

Lisa’s Answer

The best thing part about being in the architecture profession is you get to see your designs actually built! You can spend days, months, or even years designing a building, and watching it get built is my favorite part. It is a bit exhilarating and frightening to think that massive structures can be built from our ideas and a lot of times our designs are backed by brilliant engineers. Teamwork is absolutely essential and when it is done correctly the result is a beautiful building. That part never gets old for me and I hope it never will. :)
