Hi Carson,

My wife and sister were elementary school teachers. It is a challenging discipline, but you can definitely do it. There are schools that set you up better with their curriculum. You'll have to study hard, but if you are intentional and disciplined then you can definitely achieve your goal!

Juliana’s Answer

Hi Carson!

When pursuing an elementary education degree, it usually takes about 4 years to get your Bachelor’s degree. After school is when it gets a bit difficult depending on the area you live in. Some places are in high demand whilst others are not and thus it could be difficult. Also, to be a teacher, especially at the kindergarten level, you need to have a lot of patience and true passion for teaching. Students are just beginning school at this point and it is brand new for them so you must be understanding of that. I hope this helps!

Simeon’s Answer

If you follow the necessary educational path and put in the student teaching hours, it shouldn't be too hard for you to land a job as an elementary school teacher. At the most, you might need to work substitute teacher hours with a district to get noticed by them, but I don't know many people who have chosen that path and failed to land a job in the teaching field.
