Can schorlarships be included on a resume if applying for a job?

I want to know if its okay to include schorlarships on a resume. #nursing

I feel that the answer to this question varies. I'm assuming this is for a job while in school or first job out of school - in that case, I would think about having a "Honors and Achievements" area or something similar in which you can put the scholarships granted there. This is because you most likely don't have a ton of work experience. However, if you have a couple of years in the industry already then I would focus more on your experience rather than your awards. You'll also want to take into account the position you'll be applying for. If the scholarships are relevant to the position then it certainly could be in your best interest to include them.


This is based on my experience working with professional recruiters - my first resumes out of school still included my awards and extra curricular activities from university. However as I've had more experience in the working world, I've been advised to drop those sections and focus more on the work I was doing and the skills I've acquired.
