Tejaswini’s Answer

Hi Gabriela,

In addition to Jesennia's answer, I'd suggest to also apply for some internships and webinars/seminars to have an idea and/or practical experience(s) which might in turn enable you to figure out if that's where you really want to move forward.

Jesennia’s Answer

Hello Gabriela, I’m glad you asked this question! I’m a Biologist, not a marine biologist but is something similar in some aspects. First, to choose the proper path or career for you my advice is to do some research in marine biology, relate that career with your recent experiences, hobbies and knowledge, if you are a freshman or coming high school senior I recommend to you to take some courses of marine biology your first or second year of college (since those year are designated for basic courses) after that if you like what you do, learn, and experience then it could be your path. But be open mind that will help you a lot along the pathway. I think that is my best advice for you!

Jesennia recommends the following next steps:

Marine Biology research
Experiences (club, hobbies, organization, activities) related to marine biologist
