Check out auditions in your area. Register with an agency to find gigs quicker as some film makers will only work with agencies. Enroll in acting classes as well. Good luck to you!

One of the best ways is to network within the industry. That can be done numerous different ways from taking acting classes, attending events, working at a movie extra and student films, etc. There is a saying in the industry, its not what you know its who you know, and by having a good network you will have more opportunities presented to you. You can see this in action in certain movies now, you see certain actors consistently working together on projects or directors utilizing the same actors in a lot of their movies. As you pursue acting always network at every opportunity you can because you never know when that person can help you out with your career in some form or fashion.
