Neala’s Answer

You need to take a course on real estate and then you can obtain a spot at the real estate exam! After you pass the exam you get your license and can work at a brokerage!

Hi Will

According to https://mn.gov/commerce/licensees/real-estate/ and https://www.theceshop.com/minnesota/pre-licensing/how-to-become-real-estate-agent-minnesota
- Complete required prelicense education courses (3x 30hrs) and pass finals
- Pass the Minnesota real estate examination
- Become associated with a licensed real estate broker (who must submit the application for your license)
- Receive notice that the application for your license has been approved by the Commerce Department

There are some training schools that help with this but you'll have to do your research to see if those are worth the expense.

Will’s Answer

Hi Will,

In addition to your state licensing, you can also earn additional Designations and Certifications that are specific to certain situations. https://www.nar.realtor/education/designations-and-certifications

It's been studied and shown that Agents with advanced Designations and Certifications earn more per year than Agents who don't have these.

Hope that's helpful!!
