What is the average GPA needed to get accepted into Medical school?

I want to go to Medical school in two years when I finish my undergrad. So, I want to be sure if the grades I am getting right now can get me into med school. If not, I have to strive more and take less courses to boost my CGPA. #doctor #medicine #biochemistry #gpa #canada-university

<span style="background-color: transparent;">Collegeboard.org is a great resource for this! I poured through the pages of universities all over the U.S. when I was a senior in high school. Collegeboard was my go-to site! They put all of the information in one place and it is very easy to use. They even have various filters you can apply to see only colleges that have programs you are interested. To determine academic rigor, look at the admissions requirements, G.P.A. of past admitted applicants, SAT/ACT scores, class rank etc. This will give you an idea of what scores and grades you need to be accepted. However, don't be discouraged your application will be reviewed based on the full picture! College-board will help you get an idea of what is most important to the specific school you are applying to.</span>

You will need to get good grades in college in order to apply for medical school. At the medical school I attended, the average GPA is reported to be 3.85, so even one or two B's can hurt your chances of acceptance.

Medical school is becoming a lot more competitive. I would suggest at least a 3.5. If not, you should aim to score really well on the MCAT. Community service in medicine, research, and shadowing Physicians will also give you a competitive edge.
