What would be useful intel and tips for an Electrician?

I want to know from anyone who is an electrician, Just want some tips you picked up along the way on this career/job.

As in many professions there are many areas of specialization in engineering, so it's important to familiarize yourself with the different areas and pick one that you like. It's very important to do work you like.
Engineering is advancing at a rapid rate. You may need to specialize in one area in order to be relevant through your career.
Also think about the long term. If you have a choice of companies to work for, pick ones that help you build a retirement fund. I know retirement may seem very far in the future, but you will be so thankful that you planned ahead.
