Sports Broadcasting

How many years would it take in college to become a sports-broadcaster? What type of classes would it take in High School and College to get this job? Would Journalism be a good class for this major?

Yes I think journalism is an excellent major to look into; I would also look into majors like communications. I just helped my neighbor with a college application resume, who is a high school senior going into this field. She has found several universities that offer this as their own program. I know that she was in clubs in high school where she went to sporting events, filmed, and took pictures. She was also part of the high school news team that reported news regularly. This all gave her great experience that cemented this is a field she wanted to pursue in college. Best of luck!

Your quest depends on which college you select. If the school has student run radio and produces live sporting events, students are typically welcomed immediately. Also, check in to all student media options. There are plenty of opps if you are driven and willing to start small. Find your niche and run with it.
