What topics do psychology majors cover?

I'm interested in how mental health and how emotions, thoughts and behaviors connect. I was wondering what you really learn in that major.

Hey there, great question! In the psychology program I took courses in exactly what you described - the intersection of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. There were classes such as cognitive psychology that focused on thoughts, social psychology which focused on the influence of culture/society/groups, developmental psychology in which you learn about human development across the lifespan, human behavior, human sexuality, and one of my favorites because it’s fascinating - abnormal psychology in which you study the origins of and criterion for various disorders. In abnormal psychology we practiced making diagnoses based on the information given in case studies. It was fun!
