TRAVIS’s Answer

I dont know what grade level you are at but technical theatre is a great expose to carpentry in the middle school and high school levels. This will familiarize you with the basics of safety and using power tools. Building sets and props for the plays is a good start. You may want to pruse joining a carpentry apprenticeship program after that through a trade union. The Millwrights or Brotherhood of Carpenters probably has a school near you.

A basic understanding of geometry is very helpful for a carpenter. Being able to add and divide fractions are also useful skills.
