Hey Yazmine! 😊 It's awesome that you're considering a career in Social Work. I can tell that you're really passionate about helping others! Just a heads up, being a Social Worker can be challenging, but it's also incredibly rewarding.

The journey to becoming a Social Worker usually involves obtaining a Master's degree. You'll start by getting an Associate's degree and then transfer to a four-year University. After that, it'll take around three to four years to complete your Master's. There are several options when it comes to the field of Social Work, like working within courts, schools, or hospitals. So, you've got plenty of choices!

I noticed you also mentioned Registered Nursing. It's perfectly normal to explore different career paths, so don't worry! While you're in Job Corps, take the time to get to know different fields, make new friends, and build connections. You're at a fantastic stage in your life where you can discover your true calling and make a positive impact in the world!

Remember to enjoy this adventure and take your time discovering what you're passionate about.  😄 Always believe in yourself and trust the path you're on. You've got this, Yazmine! Take care and best of luck! 💜

Yasmin,

You have asked an important question. To be able to work on child protective services you should plan on getting a BSW. This would allow you to work towards a social work degree. During your bachelors, you will have an opportunity to do an internship in your field to see if this area of social work is what you would like to do. Dependent on the amount of hours you take in school and whether the hours are quarterly or by semester will be decide on how many hours you will work per week on your school work!

Thank you for your question!
