I'm confused as to which career path I should follow. What will help me to decide?

I am stuck between medicine and computer science/STEM.

I went to the career development office at my high school to check out different types of jobs. I even did a couple of different interest tests to see what came up. You could look for jobs that might marry your two areas of interest. Some ideas that come to mind would be some sort of medical research (you could find the cure for a disease!) or working in a lab at a hospital or clinic. There are also computer folks (both on the hardware and software sides) that develop software or support healthcare with technology support. My husband used to work for a company developing software for defibrillators to send information back to the doctor when the device fired.

I know choosing a major is a big decision. In my experience, some the students remain undecided and explore both of the interested areas by attending classes and getting internships in both majors. This will give you practical experience and a clearer understanding of each path, ultimately helping you make an informed decision. Again, pick a path that is a best fit for you!
