What do you think is the best technique for blending oil pastels?

Currently a senior in studio art, and while i have the basics down, I want to take my skills to the next level when it comes to achieving a more appealing blend.

It sounds like you’ve already gotten the basics of it so all I can tell you is that I personally used my own fingers. It works the best for me. Also it goes by feelings and emotions and energy in my own opinion. when you put your energy your emotions and your feelings into it it becomes your masterpiece and that’s what makes art art is the creator putting themselves into it.

Using oil pastel is a bit challenging because you have to do highlights and standing.thougn I'm not expert in using pastel. I do understand you can still blend by painting over one color with a different color so that they blend.I have not worked too much the oil pastel but I have experienced with crayons and oil colors
