Howard’s Answer

Dear Janeisi,

I've learned something important in life: when you love what you do, happiness and motivation follow. Working hard now will lead to greater rewards later. Being a nurse and helping people is a truly amazing career.

First, try to find out why you're feeling unmotivated. It might be stress, a busy schedule, or unclear goals. Once you know the cause, you can start to change your mindset and find inspiration.

As a college professor, I've seen many people face similar challenges. Here are some strategies to help you succeed:

1. Take care of yourself: Eat healthy meals and get enough sleep. This helps you start each day feeling good and ready.
2. Stay positive: A positive attitude can open up new ideas and ways to succeed in your studies and career.
3. Set small goals: Make goals you can reach and work towards them step by step.
4. Celebrate your wins: When you achieve a goal, take time to enjoy it. This boosts your confidence and keeps you moving forward.
5. Surround yourself with positivity: Spend time with friends who are motivated and cheerful. Their energy can lift you up.
6. Talk to your boss, teacher, or mentor: Let them know you want to boost your motivation. They might have helpful advice.
7. Choose happiness: A happy mindset naturally boosts your productivity.

I hope these tips inspire you to find your motivation. I'm cheering for you and wish you great success in everything you do.

Best wishes,

Prof. C

Steward "Tony"’s Answer

Well Young lady, it is just the beginning of an extensive career that you are heading for. The stress will be there every day because of the seriousness of the industry you will be an important part of. Your stress will never stop so that much will be certain, but how you handle that stress will be paramount in being the best or even just the average.

Are You Ready? Any activity that requires your non-medical related mind to switch focus and compete against the stresses that will obviously come your way. I won't tell you that birds are going to sing, or the skies will always be a pretty shade of blue (like in Texas where I live too) the heat will most surely come.

Sports, Dance, Adventure, Travel (weekend), Hobby Activities, Martial Arts, whatever off duty skills that require movement, a competitive spirit, a release of tension, and a stimulation of hand/eye coordination, quick thinking, teamwork, competitive attitude, and enjoyment, will surely offset the stresses of this chosen industry.

Its life, and to save lives, one must have a developed backup in order to combat what this profession will surely expose you to.
