how do I figure out which type of artist I wanna be?
I'm a high school senior who just got admitted into Saic (School of Art Institute of Chicago) and am having a hard time figuring out which kind of art I wanna branch out to I have mostly been into Illustration/fine arts but I wanna know if it'll be worth changing into animation.

I agree with Kim, the best thing you can do is get through the foundation / fundamental courses first, since they'll cover every aspect that comes in each of the different aspects of art. As you learn more, it should become more apparent - as well as the practice you do outside of classes - which path is right for you.

Hi Nana,
The great thing about school is that you don't have to decide right away. You'll take foundation courses that will apply to anything that you do, and your strengths and interests will reveal themselves as you study. Congratulations on your acceptance into SAIC; work hard and enjoy yourself!

The right thing to do is to look within yourself and figure out what you're truly passionate about. Only you can feel those emotions, and only you know what excites you. Once you discover it, hold onto it tightly.
