Networking is key in the finance world. Here’s how you can use your connections to build your career:
Start Early: Begin networking while you're still in school. Join finance clubs and attend events.
Use LinkedIn: Connect with finance professionals and join relevant groups.
Attend Events: Go to conferences and seminars to meet people in the industry.
Find a Mentor: A mentor can guide you and introduce you to their network.
Informational Interviews: Talk to professionals to learn about their careers and make connections.
Stay in Touch: Keep in contact with your network by sending updates and checking in.
Be Genuine: Build real relationships by being yourself and showing interest in others.
Networking is about building relationships, not just collecting contacts. Good luck!

Hi Colin,
Thanks for sharing your question! To answer, you can start using your connections by asking them about entry level jobs/internships/volunteering opportunities that are opened.
Lastly, I always tell people that taking on an entry level cashiering job is an gateway to finance. While being a cashier you are learning basic accounting and procurement. To add, by the time you finish your coursework...you can take on a better entry level career in finance. I hope this helps!
