Jesse’s Answer

What I love most about being a nurse is connecting with people. I enjoy listening to their stories, witnessing their challenges and successes, and assisting their families with questions and guidance while they're in the hospital. It's also rewarding to use my skills and knowledge to help my own friends and family with medical questions.

On the flip side, dealing with limited resources can be tough. Sometimes the healthcare system gets stretched thin, making it harder to work effectively. This can be stressful, but with support, determination, and patience, we can get through it.

Isida’s Answer

Hello Yocelin,
Yours is a good question because I am working in a hospital as a cashier and living in Balkans and during these time I have seen in close situation the work of nurses. I see a lot of physical strain: long hours on your feet, lifting patients. Emotional toll of patient suffering especially when you are working with children in a pediatry.
Please take in consideration my peer’s advice as well.
Hope it helps!

Robiah’s Answer

That’s such a thoughtful question, and it’s awesome that you’re already thinking about what being a nurse might be like.

The best parts of being a nurse are that you get to make a real difference in people’s lives every day. Nurses help patients feel better, comfort families when they’re worried, and sometimes even save lives. Many nurses also say they love the teamwork working alongside doctors and other nurses and being part of something that really matters.

The hardest parts can be that the job is physically and emotionally demanding. Nurses are often on their feet for long hours, and sometimes they care for patients who are very sick, which can be stressful or sad. But many nurses also say that even on the hardest days, the reward of helping people makes it worth it.

Since you’re still in middle school, a great way to explore nursing is to pay attention in your science classes, volunteer if you can, or even talk to a nurse about their daily work. That way you’ll start to get a feel for whether this path feels right for you.

I hope this helps.
