What are some good study habits to get into?

I'm currently a senior in high school. I love music, especially singing. I'm going into Worship Arts, so I'll be studying both music and Theology at Olivet Nazarene University.

I don't come from a music background but in general I would say being disciplined with a routine is always a best practice for studying or any area where your trying to improve. It took some exploring to find the best methods that worked for me studying in school and then later with work to be able to focus and get tasks completed. Multi tasking is very tempting especially with all the tools we have exposure to, however I'd recommend bucketing similar tasks together and completing one thing at a time to minimize distractions. The book the twelve monotasks helped me understand why it's important to slow down and give your brain a break for long term benefits. I highly recommend it to help shape perspectives for all areas of your life. Best of luck to you and hope to hear your music one day!

Always have paper and pen with you. Always write down your thoughts and ideas. Listen carefully to all conversations to find ideas for music.
