How many hours a week does a Neonatal nurse usually work?
I would like to be a nurse. I am a senior in high school and am curious about the hours I would be working in the future. I've heard that sometimes you work 3 on 4 off. Is it hard to have a family too?

In a two week period, usually 80 hours depending on length of shift, such as 8, 10, or 12 hour days. Then 1 week may have 36 hours and the other 48. The rest should be overtime hours.

Hospitals have different shift schedules. My daughter is a full-time nurse. She usually works two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts each week.
