How can I become a professional soccer player ?
Hello, I am a student at crane middle school and I have always wanted to be professional in soccer ever since I was little. I have always wanted to go pro because it has always been my favorite sport and some of my family members have played before like my dad and my brothers. I really like soccer because of the way it works like kicking the ball scoring goals and other stuff. I have always been very fast and i have always been a good attacker and defender.
Nathan, that's awesome that soccer runs in your family because having people around you who know the game is a huge advantage! To go pro, the biggest thing right now is to get on the most competitive team you can find, whether that's a club team, a development academy, or an MLS NEXT program, because that's where scouts and coaches are looking for talent. Train outside of practice on your own by working on your weak foot, your first touch, and your fitness because the players who make it to the professional level are the ones who put in extra work when nobody's watching. Since you said you're fast and good at both attacking and defending, use that versatility to your advantage because coaches love players who can do it all on the field. Stay on top of your grades too because playing college soccer is a great pathway to going pro if the academy route doesn't work out, and a lot of MLS players actually came through the college system. Watch professional matches and study how players in your position move, make runs, and position themselves because that soccer IQ will take your game to the next level. Best of luck!
