What are ways to explore hobbies/passionsn(outside of clubs) at college?

I'm a senior in high school and plan to attend a four year university in the fall. What are some unique ways to explore my personal interests outside of clubs? Having a well rounded understanding of my passions, that I can also incorporate into my career, is very important to me. Thanks! #Spring26

One unique way to explore hobbies and passions outside of clubs is by connecting with other people who share (or are curious about) similar interests. For example, you can find classmates, roommates, or even people through campus communities who are interested in the same topics or hobbies as you.
From there, you can create your own experiences together. For instance, you could organize a small service day or project related to that interest..... like volunteering, helping someone with a skill, or working on a hands-on activity. This gives you the chance to both contribute and learn at the same time.
I think this approach is really valuable because it lets you experience a hobby in a more real and practical way. Instead of just imagining what a hobby might be like, you actually try it, learn from others, and see if it’s something you genuinely enjoy. Sometimes, what we expect a passion to be can be very different from what it actually feels like in practice.
Overall, exploring your interests through informal collaboration, service, and shared experiences can help you better understand what you enjoy..... and what you might want to pursue further, even in your career.

In addition to clubs, you can try networking and attending social hours. From my experience, just start doing things! Start a podcast based on one of your favorite things. Start a small business and see if you can make money. Take an elective that you normally wouldn’t take just to see how things go. Being brave and getting outside of your comfort zone can be beneficial.
Thank you comment icon I hadn't even thought about doing anything with business, thank you so much for the advice! Linnea
