What is the hardest part of working in child and adolescent psychiatry?

Im a high school senior who enrolling in SUNY Oswegos psychology program in the fall. Im looking to gain some insight on the process to becoming a licensed psychiatrist and the most difficult parts of this career. Im really passionate about helping children and want to focus on early intervention services for mental disorders beginning in childhood.

Honestly, the hardest part is the emotional side. You’re working with kids who are struggling very early in life, and sometimes their support systems don’t work the way they should., It can be tough, but it’s also very meaningful
