Hi my suggestion is tutoring kids in high school and college because math is a subject that is difficult for many people. Use social media and post you are someone who can help with math and set a price and you can partner with schools in the area where you can help kids two days a week. Students who need credit hours for math will pay because it's graduation that they have to pass math and you can create a YouTube channel.

Hi Hannah,
Starting an online math tutoring business as a high school student is a great way to earn money while building your resume! Here is how to do it safely and effectively:
1. Safe Platforms for High SchoolersEstablished Platforms: Many big sites require tutors to be 18, but student-focused platforms like Remind Tutoring, Superprof, or non-profit mentoring organisations allow teens to tutor under age 18 (often with parent approval).School & Community Networks: Tutor younger students (elementary or middle school) through your school's National Honor Society, local Fort Stewart community channels, or trusted family friends via Zoom/Google Meet.
2. Key Safety GuidelinesParental Approval: Always keep your parents in the loop about your schedule, students, and payment methods. Secure Payment: Use secure digital payment methods handled by your parents (like PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle) rather than cash or wire transfers.Public/Virtual Meetings: Stick to official video platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams) and keep all session communications clear and professional.
3. Simple Steps to LaunchPick specific subjects you excel in (e.g., Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry). Create a simple flyer outlining your rates, subjects, and availability to share with parents in your local school district or military community.

Hi,
With today's technology and the explosion of Zoom and Teams, you can tutor people across the world without ever meeting them, enabling you to not be put in any danger, can keep your screen off for privacy, and just provide whatever services you want like tutoring.
I have known someone that was really good at tutoring, and was teaching a few dozen students for an exam in person. Once Covid hit, he changed his entire course to be online, and asynchronous.
There are many ways to safely tutor nowadays without any pressure, requirements, or potential danger.
I would advice to start maybe with someone in your community, maybe your parents have friends that have younger children that need tutoring and you can start tutoring, and yourself learning more on how to tutor better. That would already provide you a safe environment, and if you are good at what you are doing, then word to mouth will enable you to grow your reach and to get more and more people to tutor and work with. Of course, if you do not feel comfortable with a certain person, or house, or area, you can always say that you will provide your tutoring services online as it is easier, and do it all from the comfort of your home.
Hope that helps!
Good luck!

Platforms like Preply help connect students and teachers. I recommend choosing a specific area to focus on, such as helping students with AMC, Algebra, or Trigonometry, to make the most of your time and skills.
