There are plenty of online classes on the topic of how to create software. http://codecademy.com/ is just one.
You live in a world center of excellence for software engineering, so you surely can find a good mentor to give you personal advice. A mentor can be very helpful to you in planning your studies.
To be a programmer, program. What do you need? A decent laptop or desktop computer, an internet connection, and some time. Top-flight integrated software development environments, like Eclipse and Visual Studio, are free.
The biggest hazard will be that you may neglect your studies in other subjects, so be careful about that.

After identifying your area of interest, start building your foundation step by step. Begin with learning the basics of programming — languages like C++, Python, or JavaScript are good starting points. As you learn, try to build small projects to apply what you study; that’s how you truly understand how things work.
Keep yourself updated with the latest technologies, follow tutorials, and explore online resources like W3Schools, or YouTube channels dedicated to coding. Over time, work on improving your problem-solving skills, as that’s a core part of being a good software engineer.
Lastly, be consistent and patient. Becoming skilled in software engineering takes time and practice, but if you enjoy the process, you’ll find it deeply rewarding. Remember — every great software engineer started small, with curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Keep exploring, keep coding, and YOUR PASSION WILL GUIDE YOUR PATH.

Hi there
You can study computer science or systems engineering, however if you want to be a programmer, I suggest you can check a computer software engineering major, so you are prepared to do that type of job. You can start studying a little basics to know if would like or not to be a programmer, basics of algorithms and logic, but if you are thinking about it now for sure you will like it, I started to like computers and systems since I was a child and continue to like it before I went to the university so I decided to study systems engineering, so go ahead take a chance!
