To achieve your dream of attending San Jose State University (SJSU), you must focus on both academic eligibility and the specific "impaction" criteria of your chosen major. As a CSU campus, SJSU primarily evaluates applicants based on their GPA in "a-g" courses and meeting the minimum CA high school graduation requirements.
Because SJSU is an impacted campus, simply meeting the minimums may not be enough. You need to aim for a high Impaction Score, which is calculated based on your GPA and, in some cases, your local status or veteran status. Prioritize excelling in core subjects related to your major to stay competitive. Staying focused on your coursework and deadlines is the surest path to admission.

Keep your grades up in high school, and apply during your senior year. I also suggest submitting the application earlier in the process too, as I recall the year I applied they stopped admitting people outside of Santa Clara county towards the deadline.
Best, Herman
