How does one get a job in IT?
I currently study python in high school. #IT #Security

If you follow this with honesty and dedication I am sure you will end-up with a job in IT.
Preparation:
Since you are already studying programming language and have a decent time to start your career, my personal advice is to understand the fundamentals of different programming (like web, game, mobile development), and get to know your comfort zone, it is easy to excel in the area of your comfort, then excel in the ONE you like the most.
Learning resources are available across the web and from my experience:
* Coursera is best for free online training
* Udemy is a good one for specialised technical trainings with pricing per course
* Pluralsight is best for learning concepts quickly especially if you are already working on something and need to upgrade your skills faster
Practice:
Participate in Open Source projects, and IT competitions like Top Coder, HackerRank,.. to know your standard compared to your peers, get reviews for your coding and get better
Marketing:
You need to prove your skills and the best way to do it is to work on side projects and upload them to GITHUB, write Medium articles on your projects and promote your learnings on LinkedIN to get noticed.
Contribute back to Society:
I am sure you will get a job in IT if you have the zeal, but don't forget to contribute your skills back to society when you do.

IT & Security are closely tied in any IT organization. The best way to start a job in IT is to get familiar with a particular set of technology say Microsoft (MS tools, installing windows operation systems, o365, troubleshooting windows issues etc) and Apple (Mac operating system issues, tools specific to Mac etc..).
For IT Security, get familiar with different branches (app sec, network security, security architecture, penetration testing) in security and learn one of them in depth say, Application security - conducting vulnerability assessment and penetration testing on a demo site. Understand the business logic of the application and try and break the application.

Others have great answers for this, so I'll throw in some narrow advice:
Go in to the Settings for whatever computers/smart phones you have access to and start digging through them. If you come across something that you don't know, google it and learn what that setting does.
In my experience, most of the day-to-day problems you face in IT work are solved by selecting the right menu item or checking the correct box.

You are on right track to start a career in IT. As MNCs are now more focused on security and automation, Python is playing a major role to realise the industry goals. There are lot of python courses available online which will provide you with enough details to master the language.

Familiarize yourself with programming fundamentals and try understand how the operating system works. It would be great to get work placement/experience in an IT department to develop your skills. I would also try and sign up for free courses online to get a better understanding.

The first thing you want to do to get a Job in IT is decide what you want to do in the space. IT is as deep as it is wide and there are hundreds if not thousands of jobs that fall under the IT umbrella. Once you decide what area you want to get into, hardware or software you will be on your way.

IT is a very broad term. It is best to determine what area of IT you want to be in. Some example areas are: IT Security Engineering, Governance, Risk, Development, etc. Once you identify the area you are most interested in, begin by researching what skills are being looked for on job sites such as Monster.com. This will give you some certification ideas as well as skill set goals to map out. In addition to that, looking for IT professionals on social media sites to connect with will also be helpful once you're established a base to ask questions from. Finally, building a network of professionals in various industries to make yourself known as an interested candidate will keep your name in mind when a position opens up.

Make yourself familiar in the Programming concepts, and make sure you have fundamental knowledge on the platforms on Database, Network, Windows, Unix.
These are the roots for any of the Operating system or Application. So be familiar with the fundamentals of the topics and Your scripting knowledge would help in elevating these components over a time.

The IT industry has relatively high professional requirements for practitioners. This requires you to learn systematically, master professional knowledge and technology, and have certain project experience to be able to better meet the job requirements and be favored by enterprises.

Take lots of computer programming classes, classes related to IT security, database designs, etc. If you have a well rounded background of IT topics, then you will be able to apply for a developer position, database architect, IT security analyst, etc.
It will also help if you can get an internship at a company where you can grow your skills while in college. Then you will have practical experience to put on your resume as well.

The best answer would be take as many classes pertaining to computers. You need to know every operating system and all applications. IT security has become very important and pays extremely well.

Getting your foot in the door is the 1st step. I recommend researching a company you admire and get in as part of support staff. End-user support, network, etc-- you can then figure out with help of others within the organization your areas of interest to develop further.

I would start by determining which area of IT I would like to work in. This is not an easy task as it will take some research to learn about what options are out there. Start with a Google search on different areas of IT. Read more about them and narrow down the ones that you find interesting. Also sign up for LinkedIn and check out different profiles of people in IT. If someone's job sounds interesting don't hesitate to connect. If they respond you can set up a quick 30 minute call and ask them how they got their start. You would be amazed at how varied their experiences are. Use these stories to help you create your own path.
It sounds like you're on the right path with taking programming courses. Look through Coursera in your Free time and take some of the IT fundamentals courses as well.
