Hi Jessica ,

Mainly you should love kids around you. Every pediatrician will understand each child in a different way which helps them to work around.

Pediatricians should be observant, intelligent, persistent, level-headed, open-minded and resourceful when diagnosing and treating kids with regards to their illness and injuries.

You have to have love, patience, appreciation and attentiveness in the presence of kids. There is a special care involved that has to be mastered when working with them. I would advise people to do babysitting jobs or volunteer in elementary schools as a stepping stone in the career of being a pediatrician first.
