Is going through Medical school worth the time and money?

The medical field has been one of my interest for a while now, but its hard to choose it as a main career path considering how expensive it is and the amount of time that you put into it. #medicine #nurse #school #students #surgeon

Richard’s Answer

Yes! It is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.

Tiffany’s Answer

I was going into med school and I changed my mind. From undergrad through med school is 8 years and then 4-5 years of residency. All through that time you are making under 45k per year and racking up debt. For me personally I was only doing it for the title of becoming M.D so for me it was not worth it, but I personally know many doctors who love their job. You have to figure out your Why...why do you want to be a doctor. If you want to do it for the title or the money then I do not think it will be fulfilling for you and you may not stick to it in the long run. So find out what your reason why is and then go from there.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
