Volunteering for a campaign is a great way to evaluate if you would like be involved in politics full-time. Campaigns are always looking for constituents who want to make an impact in their communities.

Kenan’s Answer

Hello Morgan. There are many different paths one can go down with a degree in political science. If you graduate with a degree in political science, your career options are not limited to becoming a political scientist, but you may work for a wide arrange of jobs that will relate to your interest in studying political science. These include, but are not limited to, doing research at think tanks, pursuing advanced degrees in political science to become a professor, going to law school, working in government relations, consulting, and a wide variety of other fields. To better answer your question, I'd recommend exploring which job options for political science majors are most appealing to you and then learning about the typical day in the life of each of those jobs.

Victoria’s Answer

Hi Morgan, To add on Kenan's thoughtful answer, I would say that you also have the option to work in government or campaigns themselves. And those are often two different career paths with very different days in the life. Those can be at the local, state or federal level. Good luck!
