The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
Science is the concerted human effort to understand, or to understand better, the history of the natural world and how the natural world works, with observable physical evidence as the basis of that understanding.
These are just a few of the definitions, however my personal opinion of the question is
Watching GOD at work and trying to understand the complicated and magnificent way in which this world works and is organized.

Science is filled with evidence on how the world works in various facets. It is the understanding of how and why things are the way they are. Science can be used as to prove a theory or as a means to an end where someone wants to prove his opinion. Many of faith prefer to choose faith over science. That can become a moral argument. In my opinion both are important. One can study science to understand why things were created the way they were. I hope this helps.
